GISS LOTI went from 0.58°C in March to 0.50°C in April (back to February level). TempLS was fairly steady, satellites mixed.
Here is the GISS map for April 2013:
And here, with the same scale and color scheme, is the earlier TempLS map:

More data and plots
Nick, can you contact Paul at woodfortrees.org and see if you can help him fix whatever is wrong with GISS.
ReplyDeleteYou're getting the update; he's not. His data for GISS has not updated since November, 2012.
I expect he's aware of it. GISS won't respond to automatic HTML 1 requests, only HTML1.1. I had to change from wget, the usual software, to cURL, which can generate 1.1. He may be just waiting for wget to ctch up.
DeleteThanks for the heads up and pointer to why it's broken. ISTR wget does have a 1.1 mode; failing that it may have to be cURL as Nick suggests. Grrr.
ReplyDeleteOh, it doesn't. curl it is then!
DeleteYes, cURL has worked well for me.
DeleteFixed using curl, as suggested - thanks!
DeleteActually the plot goes slightly thicker - it was working on my dev machine because it has wget 1.13 which supports HTTP/1.1, but our production server only has 1.12 which doesn't.
FWIW also fixed the lack of update of HAD* because they arbitrarily renamed all the files. :-(
Cheers
Paul
Paul,
DeleteYes, they are making it harder, aren't they.
HAD has built the version number into the URL, so they will keep changing. I'm hoping that the links on this page will be kept up to date, and I can scrape them from there.
I felt bad after I made the above comment, but now I feel great about it. Thank you Nick and Paul. If I ever get back to Australia I'm going to buy Nick a meal. I don't know in what country Paul lives, so I' off the hook there.
ReplyDeleteNow, when you have time Paul, BEST has a new update.
