August global surface TempLS up 0.136°C from July.

The TempLS FEM anomaly (1961-90 base) was 1.241°C in August, up from 1.105°C in July. It was the warmest August in the record, by a fair margin, and with last month the warmest July, it seems the El Niño is really stirring. 2026 is already second in terms of annual to date, and has an excellent chance of overtaking 2024.

I have been complaining of erratic posting by GHCN, but this month was fairly smooth, and there are now over 3000 statins outside USA.
